Our client is looking for a SmartGrid Technical Application Engineer to be based in the Midlands.

The Technical Application Engineer (TAE) is a key role in the Commercial Operations team, responsible for supporting SmartGrid opportunities in partnership with the sales organization.

The successful candidate will support opportunity discussions as well as contributing to the preparation of presentations, demos, and technical responses to proposals for Systems Integrators and end-user customers.

The SmartGrid TAE’s primary responsibility will be:

- to manage or coordinate the companies T&D’s SmartGrid demonstration capability (Smart Meters, Outage Management Systems, Distribution Management Systems, Geographic Information Systems, Energy Management Systems, Monitoring & Diagnostics devices, etc.).

- Understand and communicate the end-to-end business and technical process that make up “Smart Grid” in order to support sales in customer presentations-Configure, maintain and become able to demonstrate the “Smart Grid” solution.

- Support Commercial Managers across geographic regions to respond to customer requests for information.-Review Customer documents and produce technical compliance statements against defined requirements.-Where appropriate, having the specific technical and business knowledge to support sales in influencing customers specifications-Understand product roadmaps in relation to customers’ business and technical requirements.

- Identify New Product Introduction (NPI) and development needed to enhance Smart Grid offering-Interfacing with external organisations and supporting functions.

Ideally the SmartGrid Technical Application Engineer will have a University level degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Since, Business Informatics, or similar and be proficient IT skills

Candidates will need to have fluency in English OHR Grade PB...LPB (depending on experience level)
