We require a Smart Metering Technical Specialist for one of our clients based in the Home Counties, UK.

The Smart Metering Technical Specialist will plan, control and optimize the Smart metering communications and networking portfolio of technologies, components and products.

The successful candidate will identify and monitor relevant technological developments in the market or with competitors that could be an opportunity or a threat to the client.

The Smart Metering Technical Specialist will be responsible for:

• Managing & Control Smart Metering HAN, LAN, WAN technology, component & product portfolio.
• Translate Smart Metering communications and networking requirements into projects.
• Initiate and manage projects.
• Interface with technology partners and industry WG’s.
• Act as a specialist for customer and opportunity support.
• Coordinate the development of Networking equipment, Head End data collection software and Meter Data Management Software.

The Smart Metering Technical Specialist reports to the Smart Metering Solutions Director and has no direct reports

The successful candidate will have:

• Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Software and/or Network Engineering and/or Communications.
• Manage & Control Smart Metering HAN, LAN, WAN technology.
• Solid experience in Product and/or Solutions Management or D&D preferably in a multinational communications and/or metering company
• Certified in Project Management Methodology (e.g. Prince2).
