The Smart Grid Consultant will work with customers to advise and provide technical and business support to develop business and operational models, project scoping and proposals for functional and non-functional requirements for Smart Grid and the UK Central Communications service.

Identify business opportunities for the Company (especially focussed on SMS) in Smart Grid areas whilst working for customerss and partners.

Own and take responsibility for the organisational design and role specifications, ensuring detailed definition fulfills the required service for any new services developed.

Work with the commercial and procurement teams in Company and customers to ensure that proposed operational service model and partner relationships are commercially sound and any limitations/risks are understood.

Preparation of commercially viable operational solution and documentation underpinned by robust estimates and or quotations for inclusion within the pre-sales and bid processes.

Provide the primary interface to customers & suppliers during the pre-sales and bid phases of a project, providing persuasive arguments at all organisational levels to support the sales opportunity.
Presentation of operational solutions to both internal and external audiences.

Design of operational solutions using existing operational capability where appropriate.
Operational consultancy during the delivery and implementation phases of the project to ensure effective knowledge transfer and decision making.
Ensure compliance with local Quality and Health & Safety regulations

Work with the Technical Design Authority to ensure alignment of Technology Solution and Operational processes.

Establishment of governance processes and management reporting standards to ensure compliancy of new operational services established.
